GlobeCore’s Invitation to IEEE PES T&D 2020

GlobeCore would like to invite all our partners to attend IEEE PES Transmission and Distribution Conference and Exposition (T&D 2020), to be held on 20-23 April in Chicago.

IEEE PES T&D is one of the most prominent forums in the energy industry.  This year, IEEE PES T&D expects over 14000 visitors to discuss industry trends and future. This number includes GlobeCore representatives, who will present the finer points of transformer maintenance, correct handling of electrical insulation oils and quick change of oil in wind turbine gearboxes.

You can find us next to booth 3461. There you will also have an opportunity to learn about the small and portable CMM-0.6 transformer oil processing unit.

See you at IEEE PES T&D 2020!

GlobeCore Invitation to Transformador LatAm 360

Transformador LatAm 360 symposium, dedicated to transformer lifecycle, will be held in Panama on 10-13 September this year.

The four day event will include presentations from the leading companies in the industry of transformer servicing and lifetime extension: SDMyers, Megger, Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen, Omicron, GlobeCore, Qualitrol and Transformer Clinic. The presented information will help improve transformer and other high voltage equipment maintenance procedures in your facility.

GlobeCore will be presented at the symposium by Jose Mora, the Latin America Service Manager. The report will focus on the problem of corrosive sulfur in transformer oil. The presence of corrosive sulfur is a direct danger to the transformer. Active sulfur promotes oil aging and the formation of colloids; it can accelerate formation of deposit films and overheating of switch contacts; sulfur has a negative effect on rubber seals; copper sulfide is a conductor which may form on the windings and damage insulation. After the report, you will learn how to prevent these processes and extend the lifetime of your transformers.

Another GlobeCore Seminar Held in Dubai

The latest seminar on electrical insulation oil treatment and transformer maintenance seminar initiated by GlobeCore was held on 17 June in Dubai (UAE).

The seminar gathered approximately 60 representatives of various transformer commissioning and maintenance companies from the Gulf countries.

GlobeCore service engineer Frank May presented to the participants the newest technologies and equipment designed for transformer reliability improvement and lifetime extension, e.g. oil purification and regeneration equipment, as well as insulation drying machines. Beside Frank May, representatives from Vaisala and Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen also made their presentations. These focused on the importance of transformer oil and transformer component diagnostic equipment selection (e.g. dissolved gas analysis).

All of the presentations inspired much interest and involved discussions, once again emphasizing the importance of these issues for the energy industry of the Gulf countries. The practical part of the seminar traditionally included a demonstration of regeneration technology capabilities, processing submitted transformer oil samples with a laboratory scale version of the UVR oil regeneration system.

Due to the interest in GlobeCore equipment and rapid electric power industry development, the seminars are likely to be held regularly on annual basis.

GlobeCore to Hold a Seminar in Angola

GlobeCore continues with the policy of holding seminars on electrical insulation oil treatment and transformer lifetime extension around the world.

The next seminar is planned for the 27 June in Luanda (Angola). We invite all representatives from the electric power industry in Africa and elsewhere to visit the event. The seminar will provide up to date information on modern approaches to transformer servicing as well as fuel blending. The visitors will be able to speak with professionals in the field of electrical insulation oil purification and regeneration and to see the regeneration process in a UVR regeneration technology demonstrator.

Event: A seminar on electrical insulation oil treatment, transformer lifetime extension and fuel blending.

Location: Hotel Skyna Luanda, Noº29, Av. de Portugal, Luanda, Angola

Time: 27 June 2019

Start: 10:00.

We will be happy to see you among the participants. For more information, contact us at [email protected] or [email protected].

GlobeCore Extends Invitation to Visit AWEA WindPower-2019 in Houston

GlobeCore would like to invite everyone involved in the alternative energy market to visit one of the main events in industry: AWEA WindPower-2019, which will be held 20-23 May 2019 in Houston, USA.

The conference will focus on important issues and topics of interest in the wind power generation industry.

At the event, GlobeCore GmbH can be found at booth 4337, where the company will present new technology of GearBox oil changing CMM-G and Turbine oil processing unit CMM-0.6.

An Invitation from GlobeCore to Attend China International Electric Power Exhibition

GlobeCore invites you to visit the 19th China International Electric Power & Electric Engineering and Smart Grid Exhibition, to be held on 21-22 April in Shanghai.

Last year’s exhibition had 1043 exhibitors from 45 countries. The combined area of the event exceeded 46500 square meters. The exhibition was attended by over 27000 people in three days. This year’s event will likely attract as much, if not more, attention.

GlobeCore GmbH, together with partner company Shenyang Pure Electric Power Technology Co., Ltd prepared a separate stand (4-168). We will be presenting a 6 cubic meters per hour CMM type unit for purification and degassing of electrical insulating oils.

Receive more information, contact us at [email protected] or [email protected] (Guo Yu).

Commissioning of GlobeCore Equipment in Bangladesh

GlobeCore equipment was commissioned in Dhaka, Bangladesh, in the first quarter of this year.

One of the local electric power companies purchased a CMM-4 and a CMM-6 units to service their power transformers. This type of equipment is well suited for such tasks as:

1) removal of particulate matter, water and gas from transformer oil;

2) heating of transformer oil;

3) transformer evacuation.

The СММ-4 (СММ-6) unit performs a comprehensive oil treatment process, filtering the oil and subjecting it to heat and vacuum.

If equipped with the TSS system, the oil can be processed without draining from the transformer tank. After passing through the СММ-4 (СММ-6) the purity of the oil is equivalent or better than -/14/12 according to ISO 4406 standard (gas content below 0.1% and moisture content by mass below 5 ppm).

For more information or to place an order, please refer to the Contacts section of the website.

CMM-4 Commissioning in Liberia

GlobeCore engineers commissioned a CMM-4 unit in Liberia from 14 to 21 August 2018. The commissioning included client personnel training.

The newly commissioned CMM-4 is built on a trailer; its purpose is to remove particulate matter, gas and moisture from transformer oil. It can also heat electrical equipment with hot transformer oil and evacuate transformers and other equipment.

While training new operators, the unit was thoroughly tested in all modes of operation:

  • oil degassing;
  • oil heating;
  • vacuumizing.

The unit performed in full compliance with its specifications in each mode. To receive advise or place an order, please use one of the contacts in the corresponding section of the website.

A New Solution for Water-Contaminated Oil Purification

GlobeCore is proud to present yet another product in our range: the CMM-1CF unit.

The СММ-1CF has been developed to address the issue of processing turbine, industrial and transformer oil with severe water contamination (50% and above). The unit can also work with diesel fuel, gasoline, kerosene and other petrochemical liquids.

The СММ-1CF operates on the principle of coagulation. The processed oil flows through a special filter. Water molecules gather into droplets and flow into a settling vessel, from which the gathered water can later be drained. For preliminary removal of solid particles from the oil, the system is equipped with an auxiliary filter with optional filtration fineness of 1, 3, 5 or 25 μm.

The unit is highly efficient in terms of power consumption (no heating of oil), compact size and mobility. The servicing is simple and requires no special skills from the operator.
