Seven CMM-4/7 Transformer Servicing Units for Malaysia

In March and April this year, a team of GlobeCore specialists came to Malaysia for commissioning of seven CMM-4/7 units.

The commissioning, which became a logical continuation of cooperation with the electric power industry of Malaysia, was performed successfully in several cities. It is noteworthy that GlobeCore commissioned the previously supplied units in this country in January.

The CMM-4/7 units are versatile multi functional equipment type which perform several functions important during transformer maintenance, servicing and repairs, such as removal of solid particles, heating of oil before filling the transformer, vacuum drying the transformer and transformer evacuation, as well as heating of electrical equipment with hot oil.

The parameters of oil processed by the СММ-4/7 are as follows:

  • gas content: below 0.1% volume;
  • moisture content: below 10 ppm;
  • solid particles: below 8 g/t;
  • dielectric strength: at least 60 kV.

In addition, the unit recently commissioned in Malaysia are equipped with the TSS (Transformer Safety System), which makes it possible to connect them to directly to the transformer.

Seminar and Presentation for Electric Power Industry Specialists

On 12-13 March, GlobeCore head office in Oldenburg hosted guests again.

This time, the Oldenburg office hosted a two-day seminar dedicated to industrial oil treatment, power transformer and wind turbine servicing and maintenance. The event was attended by 14 companies from 6 nations (Germany, USA, UK, Italy, UAE and Nigeria).

The main part of the seminar included three presentations by GlobeCore, Maschinenfabrick Reinhausen GmbH and Seifert Transformatorentechnik. It was  followed by a “round table” discussion of the new information and other pressing issues of the electrical power industry. Alternative energy companies also participated in the event.

We presented the following equipment:

  • industrial oil purification and regeneration units;
  • power transformer maintenance units;
  • wind turbine gearbox oil change units.

It is safe to say that the questions raised at the seminar kindled much interests, which will certainly transform into fruitful cooperation in the future.

GlobeCore in the press : “Wind Systems” magazine

The second issue from February 2018 of the leading magazine in wind energy “Wind Systems” Magazine, published a Frank May article, entitled “Changing Turbine Gearbox Oil”.

The articles discusses the main points to pay attention to when servicing the gearboxes of wind turbines and, in particular, the oil change. It shows the advantages of the CMM-G gear oil changer from GlobeCore, solving the described task.

We invite you to read the full article.

The oil treatment station CMM-4/7 commissioned in Kuala Lumpur

January this year, the  engineering team of GlobeCore came to Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur), to present and commission equipment.

This time, the CMM-4/7 unit was put into operation, designed for degassing, drying, cleaning from impurities and heating transformer oils used in power transformers. This equipment is multifunctional, as it can also perform heating of oil-filled equipment with hot transformer oil, vacuum drying and vacuum treatment.

After treatment, transformer oil has the following parameters:

  • breakdown voltage – not less than 60 kV;
  • content of mechanical impurities – no more than 8 g / t;
  • moisture content by weight – no more than 10 ppm;
  • volumetric gas content – not more than 0.1%;
  • ISO 4406 class of industrial purity – – / 14/12.

A distinctive feature of this commissioning was connection of the oil station to an energised transformer with a TSS security system.

At presentation, our employees brought the representatives of the electricity sector in Malaysia up to date with the capabilities of the GlobeCore equipment, and demonstrated the features of oil regeneration using the laboratory version of the UVR oil station.

Water-Contaminated Oil Drying Unit Commissioned in the USA

A CMM-10TS unit, designed for dehydration of high viscosity industrial oil, was commissioned in a suburb of Chicago, USA on 19 – 23 December 2017.

Occasionally, practical problems lie outside the scope of capabilities of stock units. In such cases, GlobeCore accepts and fulfils custom orders; this time it was the CMM-10TS dehydration unit.

In the course of commissioning, the unit extracted approximately 16 liters of water from 1 cubic meter of oil. Expressed in ppm, this means that the unit is capable of processing oil with 16000 ppm water content.

GlobeCore participated in the largest electrical industry exhibition in Latin America

November 29 to December 1, GlobeCore promoted its equipment at one of the largest electrical industry exhibitions in Latin America – Feria Internacional del Sector Eléctrico 2017.

This event was held in Medellin, Colombia and gathered over 300 participants and 10,000 guests who visited the exhibition pavilions in three days. The GlobeCore exhibition stand displayed to everyone the technologies of processing industrial oils, which  are implemented in the equipment manufactured by our company. In particular, the GlobeCore stand presented a CMM-0,6 unit as a example of a compact and maneuverable equipment for insulating oil processing.

Also, as part of participation in the Feria Internacional del Sector Eléctrico 2017, the GlobeCore spokesman Jose Mora held a seminar on the application of regeneration technologies for oil recovery  in the power industry. It was attended by representatives of Argentina, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Peru, El Salvador, Panama and other countries.

In general, the exhibition Feria Internacional del Sector Eléctrico 2017 resulted in interesting communication with participants and visitors, which allowed GlobeCore to establish new and strengthen existing business contacts in Latin America.

GlobeCore Presentation in the Philippines

Frank May of GlobeCore visited the Philippines on 4-7 December to demonstrate the capabilities of the company’s regeneration equipment.

The presentations were held in five cities of the island nation: Bulacan, Marilao, Valenzuela, Cabuyao and Consolacion.

Representatives of the oil refining industry received general information on the design and capabilities of GlobeCore products. Frank May spoke of the units’ ability to remove contaminants, such as solid particles, water and gas, from electrical insulation, industrial, turbine and other types of oil. This was illustrated by a UVR technology demonstrator unit. The small scale UVR unit is used to showcase the regeneration processes with samples of used oil.

The audience asked a lot of questions regarding the design and operation of the equipment. GlobeCore hopes for further fruitful cooperation with the Philippinean business.
